Take My Hand and Walk

I know there are times
your dreams turn to dust
you wonder as you cry
why it has to hurt so much
give Me all your sadness
someday you will know the reason why
with a child-like heart
simply put your hope in Me

CHORUS:
Take My hand and walk where I lead
keep your eyes on Me alone
don’t you say why were the old days better
just because you’re scared of the unknown
take My hand and walk

Don’t live in the past
cause yesterday’s gone
wishing memories would last
you’re afraid to carry on
you don’t know what’s comin’
but you know the one who holds tomorrow
I will be your guide
take you through the night
if you keep your eyes on Me
Take my hand and walk where I lead
Keep your eyes on me alone
don’t you say why were the old days better
just because you’re afraid of the unknown

take my hand and walk where I lead
you will never be alone
faith is to be sure of what you hope for
and the evidence of things unseen
so take my hand and walk

Just like a child
holdings daddy’s hand
don’t let go of mine
you know you can’t stand
on your own

Heaven & Hell

The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis

"If we insist on keeping hell (or even earth) we shall not see heaven: if we accept heaven we shall not be able to retain even the smallest and most intimate souvenirs of hell."
Talk about living in absolutes! If our feelings are products of our thoughts or thought processes, we will feel as the world does if we let the wisdom of the world fill our heads. The opposite is true too. If we infuse our head with the Word of God, we will feel as the Spirit does. I suppose this can sound very legalistic. We are afterall humans. But hear me out. I read somewhere our mind is the most incredible organ in the body. It contains 12 billion brain cells. What we fill them with will determine the character of our thoughts, which will in turn shape the character of our feelings.
So, do you choose heaven, or hell?

Secret Place

Undercover by John Bevere
"There is a secret place under the shadow of the Almighty where is liberty, provision and protection. Yet too many believers do not enjoy this hidden place. Instead they seek freedom and security outside of it in a realm where the very opposite exists. They are tricked into believing true and lasting freedom can be found away from divine authority."
My reflection: In all of us lies a deep longing for intimacy; God placed it in us to seek Him. We try to fill this longing with other objects of our fancies, desires. As long as this longing is not fulfilled by the One who placed it there, we will always experience a lack. This longing seeks a more lasting satisfaction than what the world can offer. It will take time (and wilderness?) to re-orient our minds to the things of God. It takes a daily walk. Daily exercise. I wanna run to Him everyday.
