Sidebar Gone Weird

Something’s wrong with my sidebar. Not that I did any other settings to it. I don’t know HTML and can’t set it to my preferences. So apart from blogging I haven’t done anything else to it. The links under Most Popular Posts do no link to the correct blog entry. And what do the numbers mean? Does anyone know how to configure it? Still have to get my timestamp in the right zone. Joe Sim mentioned something about downloading a prog or update or something.

Company

No road is long with good company.

~~Turkish Proverb

Had a good jog around the school today. Although the timing has deproved it was kinda fun. Attracted a small following (the kids) who jogged along with me encouraging me. They made me laugh so hard. It made my journey feel lighter and shorter. The rain made it even shorter. Was going for 3 km in 20 min but only ran 2.75 km in 20 min. It was a good run nonetheless.
Reflected on life’s journey. Am thankful for my friends who are accompanying me through this journey. Friends who spur me on in this race, never letting me slack, but walking with me when my paces slow down, always cheering me on, & running alongside me. I am who I am today because of them. I wouldn’t be able to make it through the valleys without my faithful friends. Your company has lightened my load and enriched my life. Thank you for laughing with me, crying with me. Thank you all of you… I am deeply grateful.
Proverbs 27:17 Iron makes iron sharp; so a man makes sharp his friend.

The Cane

Reading Deut sent a chill down my spine. It shows the merciless nature of God, and His wrath. I wouldn’t want to live under that law. Thank God we are now living under and in His grace. I wondered to myself as I read Deut, why couldn’t God show that side of His nature just in one or two occasions, why over (thousands of?) years of generations?

My conclusion is this. A character is told over time. There must be consistency in a person’s action to qualify it as a character trait. The interval between OT and NT is not long. Juxtapose His wrath with His grace and you will see just how merciful God is. It only goes to emphasize His merciful nature, and his deep abounding love for us. It makes Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross all the more meaningful.

I had the misfortune of witnessing a public caning this morning. If I were the child’s parent, my heart would be so grieved by his crime. I can imagine how God must feel when we stray. Yet He is quicker to love us than to smite us. What mercy!
